The Agartala centre of IGNOU was set up in 2001 to develop the North Eastern region of the country as there was a lack of skilled forces that was creating a blog in the development of the region. Most of the leading programs in distance education by IGNOU are offered at the Agartala regional centre. The courses are offered in distance education, regular, and online.

IGNOU Agartala Regional Center – Admission Process
The admission procedure of the IGNOU Agartala centre is the one followed by IGNOU for all of its courses around the country. In fact, there is a single process to apply to any course in any region of India. You will be allowed how to apply twice a year once in January cycle and in July cycle.
In fact, you can apply to Agartala centre in the same way that you would apply for any other IGNOU course. As soon as the admission process starts to enroll for the course you want to choose your study centre and you will be notified if your admission is accepted by IGNOU Agartala centre.
