IGNOU Certificate Programme in Peace Studies and Conflict Management (CPSCM)

A new course has been launched by Indira Gandhi National Open University at certificate level in both medium of instructions Hindi and English. The course is called peace studies and conflict management which was announced to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. the vice chancellor of IGNOU University Nageswara Rao announced this course on 5th October 2019 which will be introduced in the January 2020 admission cycle. The launch of the program was held where granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi Ms. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee was also present during the launch of the program.

Students and professionals who are interested to study about peace studies and content management in present wall scenarios can take up this course at the fee of rupees 3500.

This program is aimed towards creation and conference of understanding of the phrase conflict in the present society so that students can gain the knowledge and understanding of Gandhian philosophy. It is also so that students can understand and see the action in general terms like non-violence, Sarvodaya, Satyagraha, truth and sustainable development in particular.

Structure of the IGNOU Certificate Programme in Peace Studies and Conflict Management (CPSCM)

This program will have four courses each course of four credit. There will be project work that will be included to complete this course which is one of the four courses to clear the exam of this course.

How to apply for CPSCM?

IGNOU follows a central application system which opens twice a year for all the courses which are offered by the university in distance learning mode. As this program will be offered since January 2020 admission cycle, interested students can apply by registering themselves on the IGNOU admission portal and then filling up the admission form.

The application process at IGNOU is centralised and online only. So you will have to fill an online form where you have to choose the nearest IGNOU Regional Center. Once you have filled up the course fee, you will receive confirmation if your admission is accepted or if there is any discrepancy in your uploaded documents.

In the case of the former, you will receive info about alloted study center and such where as in the case of the latter, you will be asked to upload your documents again.

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU CPSCM

Candidates should have a 10+2 passing certificate in any discipline to be eligible. (Those who don’t possess 10+2 qualification can also be admitted after clearing IGNOU’s preparatory programme)

Once the students fill up the application and pay the fees they will have to wait for IGNOU to confirm the admission.

If no problem is found in your documents for admission will be confirmed by the Indira Gandhi National Open University and you can start studying and appearing for the term-end examination each semester and complete the course in 3 years.
