Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched a new Programme on 23rd July 2021 for students who wants to make career in Journalism Sector. The name of the programme is Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Media also known as PGDIDM. This Programme is launched by “School of Journalism & New Media Studies” department of IGNOU. Earlier there wasn’t a programme in Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and due to increasing demand in Journalism Sector IGNOU was forced to introduce PGDIDM course. 

About PGDIDM Programme

The PG Diploma in Digital Media Programme aims to provide learners on three specific areas of the emerging Information and Communication Technology, online and digital journalism practices, new media platforms and conceptual framework on digital media, and internet research techniques through big data analytics and data mining.

Also, PG Diploma in Digital Media explores the role of digital media literacy in the empowerment processes. It aims to address the interrelationship between digital media and society from the Indian context and the emergence of social media, Information and Communication Technology for Development, and issues of digital inequality.

Since every sphere of professional work has been integrated with digital technology, learners with advanced knowledge of handling technology-enabled environments enhance their employment chances.

IGNOU PG Diploma in Digital Media Eligibility

Before applying for PG Diploma in Digital Media course, You must check that you are eligible or not. If you have done Bachelor degree in any subject than you are eligible to take admission in PGDIDM. Only 10th or 12th passed students are not eligible for this programme.

PGDIDM Fee structure Details

The complete fees for PG Diploma in Digital Media is Rs 5000/ for full programme. You also need to pay Rs 200 as one time Registration fees.
